How can I use my OON insurance benefits?

At Oso Physical Therapy, you are the focus. We provide a high-performance, 1-on-1 care model centered around you and your goals To ensure you get a full hour with your doctor (and not an assistant), we do not bill insurance companies directly. Instead, you pay at the time of service, and we help you get reimbursed by your insurance provider

Step 1: The 2-Minute Discovery Call

Why patients choose this path:

  • Faster Recovery: You are busy. We get that. At Oso, because you get 1-on-1 attention, patients often need fewer visits than at a high-volume "in-network" clinic. We do not push patients to schedule 2-3 visits per week for for 6-8 weeks. We create a plan to get you on track efficiently and effectively.

  • Total Transparency:  No "surprise bills" in the mail three months later. You know exactly what you are paying and what you are getting.

  • No Red Tape: We treat the injury, not what the insurance company's computer says is "allowed."

Before your first visit, call the member services number on the back of your insurance card. Ask these three specific questions:

  1. "Does my plan include out-of-network benefits for Physical Therapy?"

  2. "Do I have an out-of-network deductible I need to meet first?"

  3. "What is my reimbursement rate for an office visit (Code 97110, 97112, 97530, 97140, and initial evaluation 97162)?"

Why this matters: Most PPO plans will reimburse you between 50% and 80% of the cost once your deductible is met.

Step 2: Your Treatment Session

Attend your session and focus entirely on your recovery. You will pay the flat rate at the end of the appointment.

  • Note: You can use your HSA (Health Savings Account) or FSA (Flexible Spending Account) debit cards to pay for your sessions tax-free!

Step 3: Receive Your "Superbill"

At the end of each month (or upon request), Oso will email you a document called a Superbill. This isn't a normal receipt; it contains the specific medical data your insurance needs:

  • ICD-10 Diagnosis Codes

  • CPT Treatment Codes

  • Provider NPI and Tax ID numbers

Step 4: Get Reimbursed

You don't need to mail anything. Most modern insurance companies (Cigna, Aetna, Blue Cross, etc.) allow you to submit a claim in seconds:

  1. Log in to your insurance provider’s mobile app or website.

  2. Upload a photo or PDF of the Superbill we sent you.

  3. Submit. Your insurance company will process the claim and mail a check directly to your home.
